Flashcards and masked recall

How StudyHaul's masked-recall cards differ from classic flashcards, how grading and spacing work, and how decks unlock.

Last updated July 30, 2026

StudyHaul decks are built and reviewed by the StudyHaul content team, so every account sees the same curated cards. Many cards use masked recall, where a card holds several labeled fields and some are hidden for you to retrieve. Which fields get masked adapts over time, favoring the ones you've been getting wrong.

After each card you grade yourself with Again, Hard, Good, or Easy, and spaced repetition sets the next review from that grade. New cards move through short learning steps, cards you know well stretch out to longer intervals, and an Again brings a card back into relearning.

  • License-included decks unlock with your exam license.
  • Some reference decks are available on the free tier.
  • Other decks can be unlocked individually with credits, with access running 180 days.

No custom decks

Deck building is intentionally editorial. You can't author your own decks, which keeps every card accountable to the same review standard.
